What are the vaccine requirements for boarding?

Dogs: Must be current on Bordetella, Rabies, DHLPP/DHPP, & Canine Influenza vaccines
Cats: Must be current on Rabies & DRC/FVRCP

Can I bring my pet’s medication and food when boarding?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring your pet’s regular food, labeled clearly, to minimize digestive upset. Medications should be in the original container with dosage instructions. Note any special feeding or administration notes when you drop them off.
Do you offer grooming services during boarding?

Yes. Optional departure baths or basic grooming services are available for pets boarding with us. Basic grooming may include bathing, drying, brushing, and nail trimming, depending on your pet’s coat type and temperament. Please note that we are not a full-service grooming salon, and grooming services are limited to basic care. Please let us know when reserving your pet’s stay so we can schedule grooming at check-in.

Can I refill my pet’s medications without an exam?
In most cases, pets must have a current exam on file to refill prescription medications. This allows our veterinarians to ensure medications are still safe and appropriate for your pet. Refill eligibility is determined by the doctor based on your pet’s condition and medical history.
Do you treat exotic pets?
At this time, we primarily treat dogs and cats. Please contact our office if you have questions about another species, and we can help guide you to an appropriate provider if needed.
How do I request medical records?

Medical records can be requested by contacting our office directly. With owner authorization, we’re happy to provide copies for your personal records or send them to another veterinary provider.

Can you send records to another veterinarian or boarding facility?
Yes. With your permission, we can send medical records, vaccination history, or health certificates directly to another veterinarian, boarding facility, or groomer as needed.
Do you accept pet insurance? How do I use it?
We do not bill pet insurance companies directly. Payment is due at the time of service. After your visit, you may submit your invoice and medical records to your pet insurance provider for reimbursement, according to your plan’s coverage. We’re happy to provide any documentation you need to submit your claim.
What payment options are available for emergency or expensive treatments?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, as well as cash or check. Third-party financing options—including CareCredit, Scratchpay, and All Pet Card—may be available to help manage the cost of unexpected or extensive treatments. Please ask our front desk for details.
Disclaimer: Financing options are provided through third-party companies. Approval, terms, and repayment options are determined solely by the financing provider.
Do you accommodate same-day emergency appointments?

Yes—call us at 252‑243‑6252 as soon as possible. We’ll triage your pet’s situation, fit them in if we have an opening, or refer you to the nearest 24-hour emergency hospital if immediate overnight care is needed.

What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?
We ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to fill your slot and offer care to another pet. Late cancellations may incur a fee.
Can you issue travel health certificates and passports?

Yes. We can prepare required health certificates and provide vaccine records for domestic or international travel. Advance planning is important, as some destinations require specific documentation, timelines, or additional testing prior to departure.

Do you help with relocating pets across state lines?

Yes. We can prepare required interstate health certificates and provide guidance on travel-related vaccines and preventative care. Advance planning is recommended, as some destinations have specific documentation requirements and timelines prior to travel.

What should new puppy or kitten owners expect during the first visit?
Your pet’s first visit includes a comprehensive health exam, initial vaccinations, deworming, nutrition guidance, and age-appropriate behavioral advice. We’ll also review at-home care, answer your questions, and help schedule your pet’s next wellness visit.
Do you offer microchipping for pets?

Yes. Microchipping is a permanent form of identification that can help reunite you with your pet if they become lost. The microchip is placed just beneath the skin and can be scanned by veterinary clinics and shelters. We’re happy to discuss whether microchipping is appropriate for your pet and answer any questions you may have.

Do you offer spay and neuter services for cats and dogs?

Yes. We offer spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs. These surgical procedures help prevent unwanted litters and may provide long-term health and behavioral benefits. A pre-surgical exam is required, and our team will review preparation instructions, timing, and post-operative care prior to scheduling.

What should I bring to my pet’s appointment?

Please bring your pet on a leash or in a secure carrier, along with any relevant medical records, vaccination history, and a list of current medications or supplements. If you have specific concerns, photos or videos can also be helpful. For new clients, please arrive a few minutes early to complete any required paperwork.

Can I request a specific doctor or technician?

Yes. We do our best to accommodate requests for specific doctors or technicians whenever possible. Please let us know your preference when scheduling your appointment. Availability may vary based on scheduling and medical needs.

How do I prepare my pet for surgery?

Prescription refill requests are typically processed within 1–2 business days, depending on the medication and your pet’s exam status. We recommend requesting refills in advance to avoid running out of medication.
